The Governing Body at Elmtree Infant and Nursery School currently is made up of volunteers from the Community, the Staff and Parents.
The Governing Body works with the Head and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that all the children at Elmtree Infant and Nursery School receive the best possible start to their education. There are six full Governing Body meetings per year. In addition, there is a Pay & Personnel Committee which meets once each term.
There are different categories of Governors; Skills Governors, Parent Governors & Staff Governors. Further down this page there is more about the roles and responsibilities of the Governors at Elmtree Infant and Nursery School.
If you think you might be interested in becoming a Governor, please contact Tony Hann, Chair of Governors via the school office who will be able to give you more information. As a new Governor you will undergo a period of training to help you understand your role on the Governing Body and there are regular development opportunities available from throughout the term of your Governance.
Please feel free to contact any of the Governors by emailing or telephoning the school office.
The Clerk to the Local Governing Body is Mr. Trevor Gibbons who can be contacted by email: trevor.gibbons@entrustclerk.com

Declaration of Pecuniary Interests for Governors of
Elmtree Infant and Nursery School
Explanatory Note:
Governors are forbidden from being involved in decision making relating to the purchases by the school of goods and services from themselves, their relatives or organisations in which they or those close to them have significant interest. The school is required to maintain a register of such interests.
A significant interest is defined as one in which the individual stands to gain a substantial, direct or indirect reward from a transaction made with the school.
Elmtree Infant and Nursery School maintains a register of these interest. All Governors are required to sign a Declaration of Pecuniary Interests on joining the Governing body and this Register is updated annually.
