The Governing Body at Elmtree Infant and Nursery School currently has members made up of volunteers from the Community, the Staff and Parents.

The Governing Body works with the Head and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that all the children at Elmtree Infant and Nursery School receive the best possible start to their education.

There are four different categories of Governors; those appointed by the Local Authority, Governors Co-opted by the Governing Body, Staff Governors and Parent Governors. Below there is more about the roles and responsibilities of the Governors at Elmtree Infant and Nursery School.

If you think you might be interested in becoming a Governor please contact Peta Trussell or Helen Berg one of our Co-Chair of Governors via the school office who will be able to give you more information.  As a new Governor you will undergo a period of training to help you understand your role on the Governing Body and there are regular development opportunities available from the Local Authority Governor Support Services throughout the term of your Governance.

Please feel free to contact any of the Governors by emailing or telephoning the school office.  Alternatively you can speak directly with one of our Governors at the regular Parent Voice Meetings.

Declaration of Pecuniary Interests for Governors  of

 Elmtree Infant and Nursery School

There have been no declarations of interests registered by any members of the current Governing Body.

Explanatory Note:

Governors are forbidden from being involved in decision making relating to the purchases by the school of goods and services from themselves, their relatives or organisations in which they or those close to them have significant interest.  The school is required to maintain a register of such interests.

A significant interest is defined as one in which the individual stands to gain a substantial, direct or indirect reward from a transaction made with the school.

Elmtree Infant and Nursery School maintains a register of these interest.  All Governors are required to sign a Declaration of Pecuniary  Interests on joining the Governing body and this Register is updated annually.
