Year 2 - Maple Class

Welcome to Year 2 Maple Class

Our Topic this term is What a Wonderful World!

In Maths, we will start off the term with equal groups and arrays, sharing and division. We will be looking at tally charts and pictograms, shape and symmetry. We will finish the term with fractions.

In English, we will be reading Meerkat Mail, a book which has recurring language. We will then be reading and writing poems about Spring.

In Science, we will be looking at the environment, with a particular focus on climate change, recycling, saving water and endangered animals.

In Geography, we will travel around the world and continents, visiting hot and cold climates.

In PSHE, our focus will be living in the wider world. This incorporates rights and responsibilities, equality and community inclusion.

  • Be inclusive, respectful, ambitious, resilient and curious.
  • Ask for help.
  • Share any work that you do at home.
