I live in High Wycombe with my husband and three children. I have a 9 year old son who attends Great Kingshill CofE Combined School, and identical twin girls who are nearly 2.
I am a Civil Servant who started work in the Department for Education in the Academies Regional Delivery Group (South East & South London region), but I have recently moved to the Department of Health to work on mental health policy, along with self-harm and suicide prevention.
I studied for my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Oxford Brookes University, and went on to study for a Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Social Psychology at Royal Holloway, University of London. I then worked for a private sector psychological services company, where I worked on business projects until joining the Civil Service 5 years later.
My husband is an ex-secondary Maths Teacher, who now runs his own business providing education technology consultancy services to schools across the country, as well as speaking in conferences and providing training across the world.
I am currently a member of the Standards Committee, and hope to use my professional skills to challenge and support the school. I was not aware of Elmtree before becoming a governor, but I have already seen what a diverse and inclusive school it is, which is lovely to now be a part of.
