Hello, my name is Martina. I’m a working mum of 4 young girls. I was born in Northern Ireland, but have lived in Chesham for 11 years. My eldest daughter is now at Thomas Harding. I have a daughter who is in Year 2 and twin girls who are in Reception.
I believe I have something to contribute as a Parent Governor. I am involved in education with my work as a Trainer/Assessor on Apprenticeship schemes in the creative media sector.
Given my background I am keen to encourage the use of creative techniques to develop confidence in english and maths – all things I believe Elmtree does well.
Over the years of working within training, I have championed diversity, running schemes to empower people from a range of backgrounds into the creative media sector. I recently worked on a scheme for young unemployed people run in partnership with the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust and BBC.
I have developed qualifications across a range of areas, working with awarding bodies, industry and government agencies to ensure that the learning is relevant, has purpose and develops the necessary skills.
More importantly, as a parent, I take an interest in my children’s development and welcome the opportunity to serve as a Parent Governor.
